ISE 2016 | Using AES67 #2

Richard Zwiebel

Vice President, Systems Strategy

Presented by: InfoComm International

RU Units: CTS: 0,5 CTS-D: 0,5 CTS-I: 0,5 Max: 0,5

AES67 is an interoperability standard that was developed by the AES that allows products from many manufacturers to transmit and receive audio between them. Several audio networking technologies have emerged and AES67 provides a means of bridging those. This allows the specifier and user to freely select products in the marketplace without the need to be concerned about which network he or she is using. This session will give an overview of what AES67 is, how to use it in your products or projects, and who is using it. Attendees will leave with an understanding of which network technologies are compatible and the steps to take in order to take advantage of it in their own projects. Important switch settings will be covered as well. An introduction to the Media Networking Alliance, the trade association that supports AES67, will be included.

ISE 2016 | Panel Discussion – How will AES67 Affect the Industry?

Moderator: Rich Zwiebel, VP of Systems Strategy at QSC

There are many audio networking standards available today. Equipment designers and facility engineers have been forced to choose one of them for an entire system, or to link disparate network pools by traditional cabling (analog, AES/EBU or MADI). AES67 solves this dilemma, providing a common interchange format for various network platforms to exchange audio without sacrificing proprietary advantages. The standard was published in 2013, and manufacturers are already showing products with AES67 connectivity this year. Join our panel of six industry experts for an open discussion on how AES67 will impact our industry.
